Pre-Register for the Teaching Conference
The Spring Teaching Conference for First-Time GSIs is held the Friday before classes begin. Its purpose is to orient graduate students to their GSI role and equip them to begin.
To be credited with completion, attendees must participate in the entire conference day, and complete the two hours of assigned preparation prior to the conference day. All conference activities will be held via Zoom.
Zoom meeting information will be provided closer to the conference date. Your CalNet ID is required to login to the meeting.
Your choice of discipline-cluster workshop should be based on your teaching assignment.
For disability-related accommodations, please contact the GSI Teaching and Resource Center at gsi@berkeley.edu 10 days before the event.
Online pre-registration is required.
Conference Schedule
Workshops address getting started in teaching remotely as a GSI, conducting the first day of class, strategies to enhance learning, grading, and time management. GSIs are placed into groups with similar teaching assignments.
