(Discipline-cluster workshops offered virtually; Interactive Theater offered in person on Berkeley campus)

The Spring GSI Teaching Conference is held on the Friday before classes begin. Its purpose is to orient graduate students to their GSI role and equip them to begin teaching. All first-time GSIs are required to attend. The Spring 2025 Teaching Conference will take place on January 17, 2025.

The conference consists of three components: 1) One hour of Pre-Conference Asynchronous work through the conference bCourses site; 2) a Discipline-Cluster Workshop (held synchronously via Zoom); 3) An Interactive Theater performance held in person on the Berkeley campus. An 30-minute ASE orientation, required of all first-time GSIs, will be offered at the conclusion of the conference. In addition to the teaching conference, GSIs will need to enroll and complete the online Ethics Course, and the 300-level pedagogy course offered in departments.
