Supporting Student Well-Being

Categories: Uncategorized

Students commonly experience increasing stress in the last weeks of the semester. There are several campus services you can recommend to help them out.

Students can discuss concerns around academic pressures, relationships, career decisions, and personal matters with counselors at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS, 510-642-9494). These services are also available to graduate students at separate satellite centers on campus. GSIs are encouraged to contact CAPS for a confidential phone consultation if they notice a student presenting difficulties that may require professional assistance.

The Student Learning Center can provide tutoring and help with study skills. Students in the residence halls can also seek help from Academic Services in the Residence Halls; assistance for student athletes is available at the Athletic Study Center.
