Course Design and Pedagogy

Include course syllabi that you have developed and/or syllabi from courses that you would like to teach together with supporting materials such as information about reading materials, assignments, and requirements. There are several factors to take into account when deciding what course syllabi to include.

  1. What are your areas of specialty and competence? You should include at least one syllabus from your area of specialty and syllabi from any of your areas of competence that you feel are especially important or interesting to you.
  2. What courses would you be interested in developing in the future (courses that might be outside your current areas of competence)?
  3. What courses are commonly taught at the institution or sorts of institution to which you will be applying (particularly, lower division courses taught by 'staff')?
  4. What courses might fill a hole in the curriculum of a particular institution?
