Teaching Conferences

The Center sponsors a campuswide teaching conference each semester to prepare new GSIs for teaching. All GSIs teaching for the first time at Berkeley are required to attend.

The fall conference takes place on the Thursday and Friday before classes start. The first day (Thursday) is for international GSIs and addresses teaching in the U.S. classroom. The second day (Friday) consists of intensive teaching preparation for all new GSIs, international and domestic.

The spring conference takes place on the Friday before classes begin.

The Spring 2011 Conference will take place on Friday, January 14. The schedule for that day appears below.

Pre-registration is now closed. Please register at the conference. You will be asked to choose a Discipline Cluster and Focus Session to attend at the conference. Please see the Discipline-Cluster and Focus Session Descriptions pages for descriptions.
